Why don’t people against illegal immigration stand up and say something?
Why is it that all the people for illegal immigration come out of the woodwork and stand together making themselves look so united and gain so much support? Yet the people against it sit at home and complain? Why can’t people start putting together massive (and I mean millions of people) to come out and show congress that not everyone is for illegal immigration? I am tired of people posting questions here about mexicans taking over, hearing the couple behind me at the super market complain, hear Bill O’Riley go on about it every day and so on. People, if you are against it, stand up and show it on the street, IT’S YOUR RIGHT MORE THEN IT IS THEIRS!!!! Take the fourth of July for example, a day when we all celebrate our independance and take pride in all the rights that come along with it. Why can’t a big march be planned? Instead, people will be sitting at home drinking beer, barbequing, and taking their boats out. Illegals at least take a day off work to get their point across.
I’m mexican american, born here with parents who migrated here legally over 30 years ago. I use the word illegal immigration because it is illegal to cross the border without at least a visa. Just because you live here illegally, have kids and plant roots doesn’t mean that you should be allowed to stay. This country wouldn’t fall apart without them as so many fear. My husband’s job is topped off at the same pay twenty years ago. If there weren’t so many illegals willing to do the same job for less then maybe employers would be forced to raise the pay.
There should be nothing chaotic about marching on the street. The vast majority of pro immigrations marches have been very peaceful. As for seeming racist, there is nothing racist here. I’m mexican american and I’m very proud of that. My parents came here legally and made a very good life for themselves. They started a business, invested in real estate and raised a moral family. I taught my two children now to speak spanish from my home because I want them to know their mexican heritage. They take yearly trips to mexico with their grandparents. There is nothing wrong with immigrating here, everybody deserves the right to strive for a better life, but it has to be done legally.
No, moody trojan, the world does not revolve around me. It’s not about what can be done for me. I’m not a pregnant illegal getting free child birthing in a hospital. How much do you think that costs? Do you know that in California, you will not be turned down for Medical if you are illegal and pregnant?
Ok Moody, let’s just keep letting people into the country illegally. If something isn’t done about the ones that are here illegally already, then what is going to detour others from coming in? I’m not saying round them up and send them back, but you don’t think that they should be punished in any way? I don’t have the solution here, I’m just tired of hearing people complain about it. I’m a member of the Republican Women’s Club in Arizona. I vote and I write to congress. I’m not holding a torch here as many people who don’t agree with my opinion want paint me. As far as not being proud of the struggles of my ancestors, my parents did struggle but they did it legally and worked hard to get where they are now. My grandfather worked constructing the railroads in California and lived here many years here legally. He struggled too.
The people who are most vocal against illegal immigration have absolutely no practical suggestions to make. All they say is send them home. Most Americans are not willing to foot the bill for that and some businesses would suffer. We need a practical approach to addressing the problem and Congress is trying to work one out. The millions of people in this country illegally have to be accounted for and we have to find an intelligent way to do it.
What is a cool summer woodworking project for a teen?
I am willing to put a lot of time into it, I just want some ideas… Thanks
i’m no expert here, but just some general ideas to hopefully get you going -
- any furniture you need around the house – lounge chairs, coffee tables [you could try the 3-in-1 type where one is smaller than the other & they slide inside so that you can 3 tables when needed], racks/shelves, credenza,
- pedestal for some decorative piece,
- office-table set which could include pen stand, clock, photo-frame, containers for knickknacks, writing pad [covered with leather, etc], & so on
- bird house or even tree-house for kids
- just miniature models of anything you like – eg. cars, planes, electronic gizmos, ….
- wooden books or book covers [like box files]
you can make these as ornate & sculpted as you wish.
you could try decoupage if you’re interested.
you could make some items as gifts – think of what your loved ones would like/want & work on that.
hope this helps
all the very best & have fun

Will Home Depot do woodwork for you? Is it expensive?
Will Home Depot or any other similar stores do woodwork for you like cutting and drilling holes? If so is it expensive?
If not what are some other alternatives? I need a small amount of cutting and drilling done for a project.
As a policy Home Depot only makes rough cuts and are limited to 3 cuts per customer per visit.
If you need finished cuts, check you local paper for a handy man.

Can I deduct the cost of woodwork etc from the total sale cost for stamp duty purpose in Bangalore?
I’m planning to buy an apartment. Can I deduct some amount for kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, etc from the total sale amount when calculating the stamp duty and registration?
Currently the sale amount is much higher than the guidance value. Please let me know how I can save on stamp duty.
you can pay stamp duty for guideline value. amenities can be deducted from sale value if the inspecting authority agrees.
I would like some help with a woodworking project please?
I’m going to build a set of crutches from hardwood, and i would like to know if anyone has done this before. I don’t need the crutches but i think it would be an interesting project to do.
Check this out, it’s a site that has pictures and tips on making your own crutches from wood:
