I work friday and saturdays and am at the gym monday, wednesday and friday in the day. For those days off i am so bored I dont like my job its too boring so overtime is a last resort [i work in a supermarket on the checkouts]. I am really into DIY/Woodworking and also computers. Can anyone suggest and simple, enjoyable projects I can do that involve any of those interests?

Well, i suggest building a compeuter table. I, myself am a person who enjoys DIY also. I have built many beginer project and now I am trying to learn more so i can do more complex projects. The first project i built was a four-legged table. The i built a bookcase, and soon a compeuter table. It takes time, and effort, but trust me, when you’re done, it worth it. When working at your compueter, you get the warm feeling that you built the table yourself =).

I am starting a Woodwork project and i am looking for free Dovecote plans(big nest boxes for Doves). If anyone could help i would appreciate it.

there are some on the internet just type in dovecote. however why not design your own. if you make it six sided then the angles are easy and work out at 60 degrees each. Have fun.

I have a whole semester to make a woodworking project with a partner. I would like to make something useful and nice to look at, but not bigger than 3′x3′x3′ … What should I make?

I had the same problem, couldnt decide what to make and struggling for ideas. My class mate told me about website so had a browse on it and thought it was awesome. Ended making a beautiful chair (not very original but the plans were perfect) and got top marks, was very proud of myself.

I have come across very few that are completely free. They might try to dress it up as free, then somewhere there is a "Buy Plan $9.99" button of some legal mumbo jumbo about copyright this or copyright that.

I don’t know about online, but The Home Depot has free classes at the stores. But ANYTHING that says free is designed to get you into their store (or site) so you can buy the things you need from them.

For my history class we have to make a holocaust memorial project. We can do almost anything. Poems, sewing, woodwork, etc. I am a crafty person. I can crochet, knit, embroider, and very basic quilting. I also love scrapbooking. What should I do for my project? Anyone have a pattern or specific idea that I could do? Oh, and I can’t write poems. I’m horrible. haha

the suggestion of krystalnacht made me think of the quilt block Crystal. Making a small one, setting that in the bottom corner with a yellow star, then making a couple more, larger ones, hacking them up, then strew the pieces across the top and sewing them down, leaving the raw edges exposed, with colors of white for the windows shattered, red tossed into for fires, and dark colors for the night time.
