What are good crafts or sites with realistic crafts for birch bark, besides canoes (achievable please)?

It’s probably not high quality birch bark but we’ve got some big curly strips from our birch tree we just cut down. I want to use it for something! I do simple woodwork projects, are there any ways I can incorporate it into those? But I would like a simple craft project.

They have pictures and step by step instructions
with links to the artists

but quick answer…… Drill holes into rectangles cut to the same length, Lace together with leather, hang them over a ready made lampshade or fit them to a frame wire and drilling holes across the topp, lace over the frame and you have a bark lampshade. Lace two recatngular pieces together with a loop left over to hang the pocket on the wall and put dried flowers in it. Use them for scrap book or journal covers the same way with wood burned names, dates or sentiments on them.

HELP-What color or style of window treatments can I use in orange color rooms?

I have orange walls with white woodwork in my dining room.My living rm is a copper/rust color.(open floor plan) living rm and dining rm with a white border between the rooms.
Three windows in each rm on the same side of the house. What color and type of window treatments can I use.

I think I would try to match the curtains to the copper colored walls in the living room. Be sure to also add some orange accents (pillows, vase) in the living room too to bring both rooms together. Sometimes it’s easiest to use a stripe with several of your tones in it.
See if anything here appeals to you:

Does anybody have any idea how to BEGIN to get organized in a large workshop geared toward cars and woodwork?

My boyfriend has about everything you could think of to do with working on cars and doing a few woodworking projects.

He just stays frustrated because his shop is in such a MESS. I can’t really help him, cause I don’t even know what all that stuff is .

He is always ‘going to’ clean it up and organize it, but he really doesn’t have a clue as to how to do it. Where should he start.

I have the same problem. Space…
I’ve got shelves everywhere and I just seem to fill them up.
My wife held an intervention regarding the crap I was saving.
I’m now starting to sell stuff off on ebay and tossing things I shouldn’t keep (broken parts, fractured exhaust manifolds, etc.) I’ve got three power steering boxes for a Ford I no long own! I’m starting to see the light, space on the shelves and room on my work benches.

Once you clean up, clean it before you end the evening.

Type 56 (SKS) stock refurbishing woodwork question?

There are three normally rectangular slots cut into the wooden piece/cap that covers the gas tube assy. The previous owner has opened these up into crude semi circles, probably for cooling purposes. What method do you suggest I use to fill these semi circles and recreate the original look?

It does not have to be 100% perfect, just accurate. The rifle is currently unfinished and blonde. I plan to refinish the whole stock. I am not a collector I am a shooter and I have no plans to ever resell this gun.

New furniture.

I like to do woodworking and if I make a lot of wood projects how can I go about selling them on e bay?

Please, someone let me know the steps I have to take and what is the cost of membership and what are the rules?

Ebay is probably the best place to go, just because they are the biggest; lots of people don’t even know that those other sites exist.

First you will need an ebay account, which is quite easy to set up on their website. You will need a credit card to open the account. They do NOT charge you to join; the credit card is just so they can easily process the charges you incur when you list an item.

Next you will need pictures of your items. Make sure you ahve a mix of close-up and far-away shots so people can appreciate the detail and workmanship.

Next you go to your eBay account and click on Sell. Their online tools will walk you through listing the item; it’s very easy. They help you pick the right category to put the item in (if you make birdhouses, you probably want to put it in Home and Garden, for example) and next you type your description, starting price, etc. You get to add 2 pictures for free (again, their online tools make it really easy) and can add even more for a small fee; you can also use their fancy listing decorations for a little more if you want. That’s it. Now you just wait for someone to buy the item.

eBay will charge you whether or not the item is sold; it’s just a couple of dollars and you will see how much the listing fee is, before you commit to your listing. If you get a buyer, eBay will also take a small percentage of the final sales price. This gets billed right to your credit card.

If you wish to accept PayPal payments (most buyers expect that you will) go to paypal.com and their website will walk you through the process. This will let you take credit card payments online without having a Visa Merchant account.

what website can i get free and nice woodworking plans from?
