Woodwork Project Help?
the brief of the project says ‘design an artefact which displays personal items’ the project i have designed can hold the items, but they are only displayed when it is open, does this fit the brief??
Hello diarmuid and welcome to Answers.
No, I think not.
Most displays have either a glass door or glass top, if it is a box.
Not knowing what you want to display, unless this a generic display container?
An example of a wall mounted display for, say baseballs would be a back board
with shelves and vertical dividers.
With a machined recess in the shelf to center the baseball in each cubical.
It should have a glass door for easy viewing and this keeps the dust of of the baseballs.
An example of a desk top display for gemstones, a simple or ornate box
with dividers and a glass top to keep the dust out.
Neither of my ides require a glass door or top, just my personal preference.
which material is better to make wardrobe, plywood or block board?
Hi. I am getting woodwork done in my new appt.
Please suggest which material is better to make wardrobe, plywood or block board?
I am planning to have veneer finish of it.
Ward robe. Be cautious about termites – in wet wall seepage (Apts will be built by hollow blocks, not bricks.
In such conditions, wood from neem or coconut tree will withstand termites. Externally you can have lamination.
Take adequate precaution before investing.
